Our Story

The Room Upstairs is located in the Mercer Street Grassroots District in downtown Princeton, West Virginia. Established in 2006, this turn-of-the-century ballroom turned small theater is a magnificent venue for live performance. With deep purple walls, French pressed tin celings and hardwood floors, the beauty of this structure truly shines. Comfortable couches make for a living room feel, and the 14 x 40 ft. stage complete with top notch sound and lighting is a treat for artists to perform on and a feast for the audience's senses. The room is equipped for high quality audio and video recording and is a unique one-stop-shopping option for artists to generate content from photography to mixed and mastered recordings to video and graphic design. The space is owned and operated by LLyniuM entertainment.

Every Monday Night from 7-11pm is Open Stage Night. Poets, musicians, dancers and thespians perform while others doodle with art supplies or just relax and enjoy the music.

Shows will be live-streamed so that anyone may access them, regardless of their ability to attend.

TRU features weekend concerts, consisting mostly of live original music, from progressive Mid-Eastern music to jazz to bluegrass and points in between. The room occasionally hosts workshops in drumming, dancing and more, and film showings, dance performances, plays and art shows have been featured. Stay tuned to the events page for scheduling.
